Information for authors

The development of requirements for the design of manuscripts by the editors of the journal "Bulletin of New Medical Technologies" (VNMT) is due to the desire to follow global trends in the development of evidence-based medicine. The requirements, which may be updated in the future, are developed taking into account the "Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals", compiled by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. VNMT publishes materials on medical and biological sciences that have not previously been published in other publications (with the exception of Doklady RAS). Reports that do not follow the rules adopted in the journal, including those without E-mail and addresses of authors, as well as messages on unfinished research, will not be accepted.

The authors are fully responsible for the spelling and style of the materials provided; taking into account the fourth part of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, which went into effect on January 1, 2008, which regulates the circulation of rights to the results of intellectual property, the authors of the materials as a licensor grant the journal non-exclusive rights to publish them.

When submitting an article to the editor, remember:

Outer edging of tables - lines 1.5 pt thick, internal lines - 0.5 pt; table heading is typed in bold in the center above the table, above it on the right in italics is the word "Table" with a serial number. The name of the illustrative material is given below it, in the center, starting in italics “Fig.” with a serial number, if there is more than one, then continuing in regular font. Figures and tables should have dimensions that are a multiple of the size of the journal column, or be placed on 1 page. The number of figures, tables and the volume of the list of references (no more than 15 titles) should reasonably correlate with the volume of the text.

3. Initials are placed under the title of the article, then the surname of the author(s). The name of the institution is indicated below (without indicating departments, laboratories, etc.), e-mail or postal address - in italics. It is not necessary to give the name and title of the leaders. If the authors of the article work in different organizations, use footnotes to match each author with his organization.

4. The text of the article is submitted in 2 copies. The electronic version of the article should have one file that includes full information. The article is endorsed by the head of the institution, it is accompanied by a cover letter on the letterhead of the institution (indicating the cipher of the article's specialty), from which the article and an expert opinion come out. The last page of the text of the article is signed by all authors, indicating the name, patronymic and surname, postal address, e-mail, telephone and fax (office or home).

5. The volume of the original work should not exceed 5 typewritten pages, short communication - 2 pages, literature review - 8 pages, reviews and chronicles - 3 pages. When preparing reviews, please provide a list of references of at least 25 sources (preferably up to 40).

Platform (computer) - IBM PC or compatible; picture file format - TIFF (extension *.tif ); the program in which the publication was made - PageMaker 6.5; CorelDRAW 7 and 8; color model - RGB; resolution - no more than 300 dpi (pixels per inch) or 119.975 pixels per 1 cm; the picture must be associated with the publication.

9. Each figure must have a common heading and explanation of all abbreviations. The captions for photographs should indicate the degree of magnification, the method of staining (or impregnation) of the preparation.

10. The plan for constructing articles is as follows: title, full name of authors, place of work, abstract, keywords, translation (title, full name of authors, place of work, abstract, keywords), "Relevance" ("Introduction"), "Purpose research”, “Materials and methods of research”, “Results and their discussion”, “Conclusions” (“Conclusion”), “Literature”.

In the "Materials and methods of research" section, the organization of the study (design) should be clearly and precisely described. In particular, the variant of the study is indicated, one-stage (transverse), longitudinal (prospective or retrospective case-control study). Criteria for inclusion in and exclusion from the study (rather than just a statement of diagnosis) should be described. The words "Inclusion Criteria" and "Exclusion Criteria" are in italics. It is obligatory to mention the presence or absence of randomization (with an indication of the methodology) when distributing patients into groups, as well as the presence or absence of masking (“blinding”) when using placebo and the drug in clinical trials. In this section, it is necessary to describe the equipment and diagnostic equipment used, indicating its main technical characteristics and manufacturer, the names of commercial kits for hormonal and biochemical studies, indicating their manufacturers and normal values for individual indicators. When using generally accepted research methods, references to the literature should be given on them. The international names of the drugs and chemicals used, doses and methods of administration (routes of administration) should be indicated. If the article contains a description of experiments on humans, it is necessary to indicate whether their procedure complied with the standards of the ethical committee responsible for this side of the work, or the Declaration of Helsinki 1975 and its revision in 1983. In experimental works, the type and number of animals used must be indicated, the applied methods of anesthesia and killing of animals strictly in accordance with the "Rules for carrying out work using experimental animals", approved by order of the USSR Ministry of Health.

The description of the statistical analysis procedure is an integral component of the section "Materials and methods of research". The critical significance level adopted in the study р must be indicated (for example, “the critical level of significance when testing statistical hypotheses in this study was taken equal to 0.05”). In each case, the actual value of the acceptable significance level p for the statistical test used (and not just p<0.05 or p>0 .05). It is necessary to indicate the values of the obtained statistical criteria (for example, the criterion χ2 = 12.3; the number of degrees of freedom df=2, p=0.0001).

All statistical terms, abbreviations and symbols used are defined. For example, M is the sample mean, m (SEM) is the error of the mean, STD is the sample standard deviation, p – achieved level of significance. When using the expressions M±m, the value of each character, sample size (n) is specified.

Average values do not need to be given more accurately than one decimal place compared to the original ones, the standard deviation and the error of the mean should be one more decimal place more accurate. If the data analysis was carried out using a statistical software package, then you must specify the name of this package and its version.

11. Symbols (α-, β-, γ - etc.) must be given exactly like this, and not as the full name of the letters (alpha-, beta-, gamma-, etc.)</ strong>. Immunoglobulins should be abbreviated with Latin characters - Ig, and not Ig or IG; interleukins, on the contrary, should be abbreviated with Russian letters - IL, not IL, as well as the names of chemical compounds (NADP, not NADP, cAMP, not cAMP, DNA, but not DNA, etc.), except for those for which there are no analogues in Russian yet (for example, transcription factors, G-proteins, etc.) .

16. The text of the article should contain links to figures and tables.

17. Measurements are given in SI and Celsius. Abbreviations of individual words, terms (except generally accepted ones) are not allowed. You should not use abbreviations (abbreviations) in the title of the article, conclusions and summary. The full term replaced by an abbreviation must precede the first use of that abbreviation in the text (unless it is a non-standard unit of measure). The names of enzymes in tissue preparations, suspension media buffers, and experimental methods (with the exception of EPR, NMR, CD, ORD) are not abbreviated. Chemical elements and simple inorganic compounds should be denoted by chemical formulas.

The names of organic compounds can be replaced by formulas if they are shorter than the name and clearly show their structure.
